Margaret Sitko

Founding Member

With more than 36 years of experience in commercial real estate law, Maggi Sitko brings deep insight and steady enthusiasm to every deal. She is known for crafting practical solutions to complex problems and offering guidance that anticipates future challenges, not just the issue at hand. Her experience also includes advising on data center development projects, where she helps clients navigate the unique real estate, infrastructure, and operational considerations these complex facilities require.

Maggi began her career at a national Pittsburgh law firm before serving as in-house counsel for a major supermarket chain. In 2000, she founded Sitko Bruno and has since built a respected practice handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including mixed-use and planned developments, public and private financing, commercial condominiums, and a wide range of acquisition, disposition, leasing, and lending matters. Her clients include regional and national developers, retailers, banks, corporations, startups, and nonprofits.

She earned her B.A. from The Ohio State University and her J.D., cum laude, from The Ohio State University College of Law. Maggi is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the Western District of Pennsylvania and is an active member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations, as well as ICSC. Her work has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America (2009–2026), including multiple Real Estate “Lawyer of the Year” honors, and in Fortune’s Women Leaders in the Law.
Away from the office, Maggi can often be found in her garden, gathering friends around the table, exploring new places, or spending time with her children and grandchildren. As the founder of Sitko Bruno, she brings that same spirit of care and curiosity to her community, advancing projects that enrich Pittsburgh and support the people who call it home.
